Outdoor Pursuits - Action Challenge
1. Started my Centre Parc journey as a High Ropes instructor
2. Applied and interviewed for the Water Sports Assistant Manager's job on October 2018. Was successful in my application and stared the job role the following year in early spring.
3. My job role included the day to day running of the venue, planning of the up and coming activity program which included raft building, junior and adult paddle boat sessions, canoe capers and kayak tutition.
4. Managed the venue to a strict staffing budget and ensured we met our financial targets on a monthly basis.
5. After three months I was given the opertunity to return to Action Challenge as an Assistant Manager to oversee the Commercial side of the venue.
6. My duties included the staffing levels of the venue, monthly and day to day operational rotas, looking at the venues program and trying to capitalise on the program that was available to increase the income as much as we could.
7. Worked closely with my HOD to improve the staff morale within the venue, something that over a period of time we have improved a lot.
8. Improved our guest journey which shows with our DES scores.
9. I am now a course inspection operator and an inspector of PPE.
10. Always looking to improve the venue and keeping staff morale high.

Facilities Maintenance Manager
1. Fresh start, different industry, new job, new challenge.
2. Started out life within leisure as a general leisure assistant within a couple of month gained my NPLQ lifeguard qualification.
3. Had asperations to climb the coperate ladder
1. My role within the centre is to assist the Duty Manager in the day to day running of various leisure activities, meetings, conferences, customer relations and liasing between staff and management.
2. I was trained as a relief Duty Manager where my responsibilities are the opening of the center which invovles setting up the till floats at the start of a shift, checking the computer system to see what functions, meetings and fitness classes are being held within the center on that day and organising my staff for the shift to ensure the activities are all set up to the clients specification and that the center is kept clean tidy with customer satisfaction paramount. At the end of a shift I am resposnible for the days takings which are cashed up with all the takings logged and locked away in the safe. I also garentee that the Center is locked down securley with all customers leaving safely and satisfied.

7. Maintaining the both the main and learner pool water’s cleanliness and hygiene. Which invovles monitoring the differentials on the the filters for timing the backwashing of the filters, weekly water balance tests, making sure the free chlorine and pH pool tests are completed and logged.

After been made redundant I started and set up North West Tree Services based in Shap, Cumbria specialising in tree and fencing works within the Rail and Utilitiy services. I had to close the business down after twelve months as the likes of Network Rail, United Utilities decided to bring all the work in house and stop using small sub contracting businesses.

1. Managed the United Utility Vegetation Power line clearance for Nomad Tree Services
2. Planning the weekly works program for a number or arboricultural tree cutting crews which also included the planning of shut downs (switching off the low voltage circuits suppliying electricity to properties, businesses etc)
3. Accumulating the weekly billing an invoicing which included updating spreadsheets for the client showing the electrical spans cut and surveyed each week with a total weeking invoice for payment aswell as keeping up with my own book keeping for payment of wages for my staff and contractors, monthly hire of vehicles and plant, fuels bills etc.

1. Started working at fountain forestry as a ground worker after completing my three year Forestry Management course.
2. Worked on the Norweb Power line de-vegetation clearance contract, clearing vegetation from low voltage systems up to National Grid lines as a tree feller, arborist and then Tree Surveyor throughout the North West.
3. I have gained over ten years of knowledge and experience working within a Railway working environment managing the day to day running of founatins fence renewals and repairs contract, and vegetation control and maintenance for Railtrack (Now Network Rail)
4. Was part of a small team that surveyed all the running railway lines within the Preston Zone (Lancashire, Cumbria and the Scottish Borders) for tree encroachment to the overhead lines and signalling equipment as well as the line side fencing/boundary of Network Rail land.
5. Have gained a lot of experience in how to quote for different types of fence and tree jobs, how to present a costing breakdown of how each job is priced.
6. Core planner for day and night time line side work (total blockage of line as well as live running) - role included managing staff number, completion timings, site files (methodology, risk assessments etc)
